Under New Ownership!
Pachyderm is a residential recording studio located in a 50-acre private forest 35 miles south of The Twin Cities in Cannon Falls, Minnesota. The setting of Pachyderm is idyllic – a Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired 6,000 square foot house (w/four large bedrooms, indoor swimming pool & sauna) overlooking a spring-fed trout stream winding through old growth woods teeming with wildlife. A short walk from the house is the recording studio, a 2,500 square foot building, naturally lit by large picture windows that frame the landscape, with five acoustically isolated recording areas including an acclaimed live room and a spacious control room. It is an entirely unique and peaceful work environment that is extraordinarily conducive to creativity.
Pachyderm is outfitted with the best in recording technology, both analog (classic Studer tape machines) and digital (Pro Tools HD3 Accel), supplemented by the best of the old and the best of the new supporting outboard equipment. The centerpiece of Pachyderm’s control room is a classic Neve 8068 recording console.

Nirvana's In Utero, Live's Throwing Copper, P.J. Harvey's Rid of Me, Soul Asylum’s Grave Dancer’s Union, Mudvayne’s End Of All Things To Come, The Jayhawks’ Hollywood Town Hall and numerous other recordings by such artists as They Might Be Giants, Alkaline Trio, Indigenous, Alice Peacock, Palace and Son Volt were recorded at Pachyderm Studio.
